About Parva School

Parva school is a small NGO based in Northern India. We provide education to the children of a slum-dwelling community - 150 families who subsist from collecting, reycling and re-selling waste in the city of Jaipur, Rajasthan. At present we have two full-time teachers Shahadat & Usha that teach 60+ children. The children range from 4 to 17yrs of age.

We have had a number of volunteers from France and the UK that have come to help teach for a few months at a time. New volunteers are very welcome and the kids love meeting new people. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Lizzie Godfrey or Felicity Naylor - you'll find their emails at the bottom of this page.

In March 2012, two photo-journalists, Chantal Ramard and Anthony Fell, spent some time with Parva School. Take a look at their article which explains some of the background behind our project.....

Help Parva School

Parva School runs entirely off charitable donations. Your support is hugely appreciated. A few pounds goes along way in India and all your donations go directly towards educating some of the most underprivileged children of Jaipur. Children who would otherwise be out spending their days picking through garbage or begging. The children love coming to learn. The school gives them the skills they need to build a future beyond the slum. At the moment we have an aspiring engineer, actor, policeman, dancer, teacher, painter, professional cricketer and a doctor.

If you would like to donate please click the button below and you can donate any amount via paypal. To find out about other ways that you can help or to let us know about any fundraising ideas that you might have please get in touch. We would love to hear from you.

Parva School is a registered Charity in the UK and is strictly a non-profit NGO running with very limited funds.
